Master of Education

The Master of Education is a three-semester/trimester coursework degree designed to provide the education profession and the community in general with leaders capable of addressing critical issues in practice, policy, and research. It is designed for teachers, educational administrators, and other professionals with educational roles and responsibilities in allied or related fields who seek to extend and deepen their expertise in Education; and those planning to proceed to the Doctor of Education.

Overview

This coursework-classified course is available in a combination of modes at the Murdoch campus, Murdoch Dubai campus, or Murdoch Singapore campus. Students undertake a project of 6 points and 30 points of coursework.

Admission Requirements

• Entry requirements (onshore): Bachelor of Education (AQF Level 7) or equivalent OR a bachelor degree from any discipline (AQF level 7) and at least 2 years full-time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.
• Entry requirements (transnational): Bachelor of Education (AQF Level 7) or equivalent OR a bachelor degree from any discipline (AQF level 7) and at least 2 years full-time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.
• English language requirements: Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.

1. Appraise and relate elements of educational ecosystems and justify methodologies for becoming informed about them.
2. Critically analyse the nexus of educational theory and professional teaching practice.
3. Critically evaluate and synthesise a range of educational theories and concepts.
4. Design educational projects tailored to the needs of diverse teaching and learning contexts.
5. Evaluate implementation, process, and outcome of complex educational initiatives.
